888poker helps raise funds for Ante Up For Africa at WSOP

888poker sent their celebrity VIP team to the Ante up for Africa poker tables and helped raise them $10,000 for the charity.

Poker team Shane Warne, Jeff Fenech, Claire Renaut and Leo Margets supported Don Cheadle and Annie Duke who set up the foundation with Norman Epstein in 2006.

“$10,000 is enough to change one person’s life at the World Series of Poker. But in Africa, it can change thousands of lives,” said Annie Duke. “With the poker world focused on the WSOP right now, we’re hoping poker players will once again step up and contribute, and even put aside at least the money towards one satellite buy-in, and instead donate it online to Ante Up For Africa, where the money can provide much-needed assistance to those in need in Africa.”

Team 888poker’s Claire Renaut did well in the tournament coming 9th and made it to the after a huge bad beat she won $13,000 and gave half to charity.

“What a fantastic day, and what a great charity to be a part of. I will hopefully continue on with my success at the WSOP main event on 7th July” 888behind the scenes host Annette Melton managed to get some star studded interviews on the red carpet before the celebrities entered the poker room, including Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and Annie Duke.
